I love what can be done with a simple animated .gif file. This one is announcing our winter sale in our online store: http://spurdesign.com/new/.

This is the book trailer for my new book Shape Shift, published by Henry Holt in 2016.

This animation, titled Securing Rights, Combating Climate Change analyzes the growing body of evidence linking community forest rights with healthier forests and lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

Our latest app, PrestoBingo Colors provides an introduction to colors for kids from preschool age on up! Kids wander through robot factories and butterfly fields as they master the intricacies of color identification. Basic colors like red, yellow and blue are mastered first, but then kids can move to intermediate colors like magenta, gold and turquoise. Finally, in the advanced mode they can tackle crimson, ochre, cobalt and many more – over 80 colors in all!

PrestoBingo Color’s first set of colors covers basic identification for preschoolers: black, blue, brown, gray, green, orange, pink, purple, red, white and yellow. On each screen, kids are asked to find objects of a certain color. Friendly narration guides them if they get stuck. To make it more challenging, sometimes kids will need to tilt their device to find a hiding shape that’s just off the screen. Then, when the basics are mastered, the difficulty level can be changed. Magenta? Periwinkle? Plum? Developing a broad vocabulary to describe color becomes a fun game.

PrestoBingo Shapes provides an introduction to geometry for children. Circles, diamonds, ovals, rectangles, semicircles, squares, triangles, trapezoids, and triangles are explained and identified. Each screen presents a different shape-finding puzzle and kids are verbally and visually prompted to click on the shapes. Animations throughout the app explain geometric forms concisely, and encourage children to see shapes in a unique way. When prompted for more information, shapes are described in terms that young kids can understand, "A trapezoid is a triangle with the top cut off. It can be a tent in the woods, or a lampshade, or a ship sailing away."
